PC Energy Conservation
The Energy Management Department was formed in April, 1982 to reduce utility costs, but at the same time provide a comfortable environment for our customers; to analyze and select the most cost effective energy reduction systems; to enter all utility data into the FASER system to determine correctness of all utility usage and costs and provide reconciliation against other accounting systems; to provide state of the art metering to a central computer system for billing services for all chilled water and UAB made steam and Indirect Cost Recovery for government grants; to provide energy conservation training for our customers; to analyze all UAB air handlers for proper performance against design specifications; to provide commissioning on all HVAC control systems for all new and renovated areas; to keep current all energy related standards, such as HVAC controls, lighting, etc.; and provide all coordination, as the primary contact, with the utility companies.
