Design and Engineering Teams:
DBS has registered Architects and Engineers for projects that require drawings, specifications, and/or code review. It is critical that even small construction projects (i.e. moving of walls, doors, electrical outlets, etc.) be sent to our Department so we can ensure that all safety and permitting requirements are met, and to ensure that your project will be managed by a professional Design Build Team.
Our Licensed Architects are responsible for the entire UAB Facilities Standards. There are standards for carpeting, flooring, lighting, plumbing, ceilings, and more, used on every UAB renovation project. These standards are a requirement for any work performed at UAB (external Architects and Subcontractors included).

Estimating and Construction Teams:
Our Estimating Team is the central point for our services. The estimators communicate with the Design and Construction staff to provide ballpark estimates (for your budgeting needs) or a more detailed estimate once construction drawings are complete.

Asbestos Abatement:
Our certified Asbestos Abatement Team can take care of any of your abatement needs. Just submit an online work order and we will give you a "ballpark" price to remove to asbestos. Sometimes asbestos removal will be part of a bigger renovation project and our abatement team will work directly with the DBS Construction Supervisors.

DBS' one-stop shop for any project that is typically less than $1,500, can be completed within 3 days, and does not require an estimate (time and material only, please).
